Places for People is one of the largest property management and development companies in the UK, comprising of 58,625 homes either owned or managed in a mixture of different tenures and a £2.3 billions asset base. With 2,500 employees, they are a unique organisation that provides a diverse range of products and services to deliver high quality, safe and sustainable communities.
The Group has specialist companies that provide housing for affordable rent, market rent and sale, commercial property, financial services, care and support services, regeneration products and childcare.
On the appointment of a new HR Director, a HR change program was implemented to ensure all managers and employees of Places for People receive a high quality and consistent service.
One of the key areas identified as a priority was ensuring that Places for People operated a competitive and efficient approach to recruitment.
Independent RPO were engaged to audit the existing process and recommend changes to achieve significant cost and time savings for Places for People. The audit was completed in 10 days and provided Places for People Senior Executive Team with a clear view of where investment and focus was required.
Independent RPO are now partnering Places for People on the implementation of these changes, which focus on improving the internal capability of the Places for People HR function responsible for recruitment. This program is providing the implementation of all required recruitment tools and processes, and also the training of the in-house HR team in becoming subject matter expert recruiters. The impact is being felt on the overall recruitment process and even more so on the development of the HR team’s skills and knowledge.
